Meet our founder
“Hi! I am Jamie, the founder and managing director of Turn 2 Mentoring. I was born and grew up in the small new town. After some twists and turns, my 25-year journey has led me to this point, the proud owner and managing director of Turn 2 Mentoring.
So, how did it all start? Well, all my life I knew that academically, I always did my best to achieve and work hard, but there was something missing. The teachers that were trying to teach me were using conventional techniques, they didn't identify that there was something else going on for me; I just couldn't engage in that static, inflexible environment.
My love and passion was for sport, it was where I excelled. I liked the people I was playing sport with, and they seemed to understand and like me back. I was never happier than when I had a ball at my feet, and I was part of a team. Sport and in particular the coaches teaching me, were giving me the rapport and the connection that I had never had at school.
